💡 Tip: Quick oats are rolled oats cut smaller and thinner, so they cook faster. They're not the same as sweetened instant oatmeal packets.

Quick oats vs rolled: same idea, faster cook

Quick oats are rolled oats cut smaller and pressed thinner, so they cook in a couple of minutes and give a softer, less chewy porridge. A cup weighs about 80 g. They swap 1:1 with rolled oats in most recipes, though baked goods will have a slightly finer texture.

No quick oats? Pulse rolled oats a few times in a blender or food processor to cut them down to size.
